Canadian women win, Mckerihen takes out Australia

It was a great night for the Canadian Women in Warilla as they both crossed the line with victories. In the Junior action Kelly Mckerihen (Toronto, ON) took out defending World Jr. Champ Samantha Shannahan of Australia 11-4 6-9 4-2. This knocks the defending champ out and keeps alive Kelly’s hopes of finishing on the podium. This was fantastic game that saw Kelly stay focused to take the victory in the tie break. She has one game left as she will face South Africa and needs the win to stay alive.

In the Womens division Mary Wright (White Rock, BC) turned in an impressive performance as she gained her 2nd win of the tournament by beating Beatrix Lamprecht of Namibia in straight sets 8-3 10-9. Next up for Mary is Sarah Jane of Ireland, with 3 more games to follow.
