Wood & McGowan Claim Gold…

The 2012 Canadian Junior Lawn Bowls Championships was played over the week in Kelowna British Columbia. The competition saw young competitors come from across Canada to compete for the Singles titles in both Girls and Boys.

It was Stirling Wood, Midland ON the gold medal match, Ontario’s Stirling defeated British Columbia’s Priscilla Westlake in 2 sets (5-4,6-3). In the Boys division it was Connor McGowan, Kelowna BC that came out on top winning his match over Cameron LeFresne (Nova Scotia) in 2 sets (9-1,7-2) to win the 2012 Canadian Junior Championships.

Congratulations to all competitors who made the trip out to Kelowna for this great week of bowls, friendship and camaraderie .
