Canada Wins Bronze – Mixed Fours
|The 2nd annual Dutch Open was played over the past week in Haarlem, The Netherlands. The tournament consisted of Women’s Pairs, Men’s Pairs and Mixed Fours. Nine countries participated in the tournament consisting of thirteen teams. Six Pairs games for both and Six Mixed fours games were played throughout the week.
It was four province Canadian team that consisted of Jamie MaGgowan, (Vancouver, BC) Kelly McKerihen (Toronto, ON) Amanda Berg (Edmonton, AB) Michael Pituley (Regina, SK) that set out on a quest to win a medal for Canada and came home with a result. The foursome would finish the tournament with 8 points 118 – 85 on their way to a Bronze Medal.
In the Women’s Pairs the girls would just miss out on another medal as McKerihen and Berg would finish in 4th place. They were tied for 2nd place but would narrowly miss out on shots. While in the Men’s Pairs, MacGowan and Pituley would finish in 11th spot. Congratulations to the team for heading over and playing well.
