Lee and Mai out of the gates quickly….

Josephine Lee (Vancouver, BC) and Vincent Mai (Vancouver, BC) came out of the gates early and made a statement on their quest for the World Cup Championship crown.

In her first round match Josephine lost a close hard fought battle with Thailand 14-5, 6-8, 0-5. She rebounded to take down World Champ Val Smith from New Zealand 7-8, 11-5, 3-1. This is the second time that Josephine has beaten Val on the International scale.

In men’s action, it was Vince Mai cruising to two early round wins with victories over Zimbabwe 12-3, 5-9, 7-4 and Malta 6-4, 5-7, 4-1. That leaves Vince in 1st place after the first day of competition.
