Canadians off to a great start…..
|The 2011 WORLD CUP (INDOOR) & WORLD JUNIOR CUP (OUTDOOR), has begun in WARILLA NSW. AUSTRALIA and Canada is off to a great start. On the Men’s side Geoff Pershick (North Vancouver, BC) has come out of the gates quickly with 2 wins, crushing Spain 12-7, 13-4 and in the afternoon draw disposing of Namibia 12-5, 8-5. First time international player Mary Wright (White Rock, BC) has kicked off her career for Team Canada and is starting to settle in. She dropped her games on Day 1, with losses to the Phillipines and Malaysia.
Canadian Junior Champ, Kelly McKerihen (Toronto, ON) is off to a blazing start showing that she will be a contender at this years championships with convincing wins over Scotland 8-7, 8-10 4-0 and Ireland 9-4 7-7. The Canadian Junior Men’s side is represented by Jonathan Pituley (Regina, Sask). Pituley only had 1 game on opening day and just fell short to Scotland 13-4 6-16 0-6.
